CfP Nuntius Antiquus. The first issue of Nuntius Antiquus of each year will assemble a dossier on Classical Reception exploring all aspects of the admission of literary records and material culture of ancient Greece and Rome. These Nuntius volumes include, therefore, a range of contributions that inquire and delve into the complex relationships among transmission, interpretation, translation, transplantation, rewriting, reconfiguring, restructuring and rethinking the ancient world. Our intent is to observe the Greek and Roman material in other contexts and cultures to illuminate the peculiarities and concerns of the receiving culture and to offer fresh interpretations into the meaning of the ancient sources in their own time and culture. Such issues welcome submissions from researchers in Archaeology, Architecture, Art, Cinema, Comparative Literature, Folklore, History, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Theatre and Translation Studies, as well as from those in the Classics and Ancient Studies field. They welcome, too, contributions geared toward the way the Classical World has been portrayed in the art, literature and culture of later periods, and how it has shaped modern views and values. Manuscripts Submission Deadline: March 15, 2017. Issue Publication Date: August 15, 2017. LINK
